| Arlington High School The Arlington cafeteria staff enjoys a break together Walk into the Arlington Great
Hall on a Thursday morning and you may see an interesting sight: a group of people
eating at a table together, laughing and enjoying each others’
company. The hairnets are a clue as to who they are.
Once a week the Arlington cafeteria employees all take their breaks together. The
camaraderie they share is one of their favorite things about the job. They also
pick “secret pals” for the year and have fun surprising each other with little
gifts.
The cafeteria supervisor, Rose
Moe, has worked in the district for 18 years. The eleven staff members
have more than 80 years combined experience. Together they serve about 470
breakfasts and 865 lunches a day. The staff is proud of the fact that even
though enrollment has dropped at their school, lunch participation is building
at a steady pace. Student favorites are Cheesebread and Sausage Biscuits for breakfast,
and Chicken Patty Sandwiches and Rotisserie Chicken for lunch.
