  • Who is funding this project?  Ramsey/Washington Counties

 

  • What is the difference between the colors of barrels? Blue barrels are for the pigs (all the food and beverage waste); Gray barrels for the trash (napkins, ketchup/mustard packets, corn dog/popsicle sticks, etc.)

 

  • When will the farmer come and pick up the food for the pigs? In the morning, every other day.

 

 

  • How can I volunteer at my school during breakfast and lunch?  Please contact your principal or the Food Waste Recycling Coordinator

 

  • Are middle schools and high-schools participating?  No

 

  • How much money is the district saving by recycling the food/beverage waste?  Approximately $40,000; once all of the schools are up and running.

 

  • Where will that money go?  Back into a general district fund
